When my clients purchased this post-war Fifth Avenue apartment overlooking Central Park, it bore the scars of a dated, 1980's renovation. The apartment had to work for both grown-up entertaining and kids' parties, and I wanted to create something that was beautiful yet comfortable. I started by returning the space to an elegant, period-appropriate layout that would suit a young family with two children. With a nod to understated glamour and chic functionality, no surface went untouched in this 2600 square foot apartment.
With an interesting mix of materials and textures that were paired with variety of styles and periods - every finish was thoughtfully selected. From metallic wall coverings to luxurious fabrics, to precious metal hardware and exotic wood finishes - this apartment was brought up-to-date to the twenty-first century.
